In comparison to their other titles, one could be mistaken for thinking that Marvel’s latest caped crusader has been forgotten. We’ve had tonnes of marketing for Captain America: Civil War (2016), set photos from Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and even some cool concept art from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). However, until last month’s Comic Con we were yet to get a proper trailer for Doctor Strange (2016), the second film from the billion-dollar studio and one that is scheduled to bow in theatres this November.
Fans fears have been eased somewhat today though, with a special sneak peek video from the film, thanks to its inclusion in the special features section of the Captain America: Civil War Blu-ray. Despite not revealing too much, the video does gift us a few brief notes on the film’s major characters, including Baron Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and the villainous Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen). In addition, we get to see a lot of new concept art.
Given the film is still in post-production and Marvel makes its money by trading in secrets, we arguably couldn’t expect much better. Doctor Strange (2016) will follow the story of a brilliant neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in a terrible car accident, before seeking out a new purpose. The film will also star Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and Rachel McAdams as the rumoured love interest. Doctor Strange opens officially on November 4 and until then you can check out the sneak peek below.
